Personal Homework Help is looking for one or more activity leaders who are passionate about motivating, activating and helping the volunteers.

At Personlig Lektiehjælp, we help children and young people from 0-9th grade who face challenges in school – both academically and socially. The purpose of the activity is to help children and young people who have challenges in everyday life by giving them a good experience in connection with learning.

As a volunteer activity leader, you will be responsible, in collaboration with the current activity leaders, for leading Personal Homework Help and motivating and helping the volunteer homework helpers in the activity. For the volunteer homework helpers, homework help takes place at the family's home once a week, where 2 hours are set aside (day and time are chosen by you). The 2 hours are spent primarily on building a good relationship with the family and the child/children, then focusing on the child's academic and social strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, the homework helpers act as a role model who will help motivate and support the child's desire to complete a youth education.

At Personlig Lektiehjælp Odense we are currently 10 volunteers and two activity leaders. Although we each run an independent program, we occasionally meet for mandatory sparring meetings to talk about challenges and successes with the homework help program - but also for social events where we have fun - both alone in the volunteer group, but sometimes also with the children and families. We have a long waiting list of families who want homework help, and who are looking forward to being matched with a friendly, outgoing and nice soul!
